SiteStuff Recognized at Going Green Awards (Austin Business Journal)

Austin, Texas, (Jan. 17, 2009) - SiteStuff, Inc. is pleased to announce its recognition by the Austin Business Journal at the 2009 Going Green Awards. The Austin Business Journal’s Going Green Awards highlights those businesses and business leaders who are leading the effort to protect our environment. The 2009 Going Green Awards publication honored those in Central Texas who make efforts to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into their businesses and community work. By doing so, they show others how to strengthen the environmental health of our region.

As the only procurement services company dedicated to commercial real estate, SiteStuff has successfully developed a sustainability offering, GreenStuff, that is integrated into the company’s three core Web-based procurement solutions: Product Purchasing, Contract Management and Spend Management.

Real estate operators can see significant impacts to the bottom line and their environmental footprint by implementing new procurement strategies available through SiteStuff. Given the tremendous opportunity to effect change, the company made a conscientious decision in 2008 to develop GreenStuff to leverage the existing technology of the procurement platform while incorporating a services arm that includes procurement experts and LEED®-accredited professionals.

Based on the concept of “Measurable Green Procurement” GreenStuff provides a single source to help real estate owners and managers execute building-level or organization-wide sustainability strategies.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Austin Business Journal and we are proud to support our commercial real estate clients’ environmental goals. The green movement in existing buildings is still in its infancy. Our hope is that our clients can use GreenStuff to develop cost effective programs that can be easily managed and measured,” said Paul Cialdella, Vice President, SiteStuff. “It is incumbent upon owners and managers of commercial real estate to develop a pragmatic approach to the purchasing process in order to maximize operational efficiencies while employing environmental stewardship.”

In 2006, the company launched a unique Green Catalog of eco-friendly supplies, a one-stop shopping portal for cutting edge green products for commercial buildings. Since launching GreenStuff the company has expanded its Green Catalog by adding third-party certified products such as Energy Star, Greenguard and Green Seal. SiteStuff also created quick search links that provide product comparisons for items such as occupancy sensors, green chemicals and water restrictive devices. This allows clients to quickly search for and add products to their customized shopping lists and easily place orders on a recurring basis.

Clients wishing to incorporate green services into their building can easily add eco-friendly specs when bidding out service contracts by using the SiteStuff Contract Management tool. Additionally usage and compliance calculators are available to help identify environmental and fiscal saving opportunities for things such as switching from a folded towel to a roll towel, from hand towels to air dryers, or when comparing commercial lamp life-cycles or costs associated with retrofits.

Finally, clients can use the award-winning Spend Management Solution to report on and document their purchases and bidding history. They can pull reports by SKU#, category or by building or portfolio level. This is critical when applying for industry certifications and provides a tracking mechanism for marketing and owner reports.
